I am from mountains they called haystacks and native grasses higher than me.

I am from a family that sat around the dinner table talking about religion, politics, sexuality, and how we were going to get on the next episode of Steve Harvey's Family Feud.
I am from sitting alone at lunch and learning to be found. I am from imagination that sustained me and dissociation that depleted me. I am from learning to return to my body and to feel.

I am from courageous women who are teaching me to wonder wildly and a tender man who taught me about listening. I am from miners and farmers who cherished the Rocky Mountains and from the tchotchke shops owned by my grandparents. I am from learning to love queerly and learning to sit in messy contradictions of myself.

I received my 200 hour yoga teacher training here at Up in May 2023. In my classes we will balance nourishing heat with graceful softness. We will encounter goofiness, meditation, and perhaps a little poetry too.
