where i’m from

I am from a mother raising riding horses and a father who played in rock bands. I am from Bon Jovi CDs, homemade American girl doll clothes, and stuffed animals all tucked in before bed. I am from cabin weekends spent swimming in the lake from dawn till dusk.

I am from a queer friend group that gave me the space and support to discover myself. I am from solo backpacking trips, yearly community garden patches, and endlessly discovering new hobbies.

I am from community care, without which I would not be.
